November 2016 Newsletter

Whew we served for the month of October a total of 14,079 guests. This was a record-breaking month.

I as well as the entire galley team are simply exhausted.  It took each and every one of us working 6 and 7-day work weeks to make it through.  Thanks to everyone for their continued hard work
I want to thank Mandara Spa in Cherokee as Bruce Taylor runs an amazing facility with a staff that can take the stress away on a busy day.

The call ahead for e-club members did go well. We may try this again on our busy summer months.

Giving Back

For the months of November & December we have chosen the Arc of Haywood County as the Arc helps people with disabilities succeed in life.

We will donate $1.00 for each Seafood Casserole, Shrimp and Gritcakes Dinner, and Pumpkin Martini to Arc of Haywood County.

Our total to Haywood Pathways for both Sept and Oct was $755.  On November 3, we will present our check to this amazing group.

We donated $598 in Teresa Liners name to go towards breast cancer awareness here in Haywood County.  Teresa is a survivor and it was an honor to give in her name.

The Halloween Galley Crew

Family Notes

I was so proud to stand with Grace on Senior Night.  Also, sad to see my baby about to graduate.  She has worked so hard with the band, as their show this year was just awesome.  After the holidays, she will be bussing tables more often.

I am very proud of how Anna is handling the bar.  Her pumpkin spice and pomegranate martinis along with her coconut or black lava margaritas have become guest favorites.
Sara is still managing while on a full schedule at Western working for her business degree.
The girls along with our dog Jewel will head to the Isle of Palms for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Shane and Shannon Rock will also come down.  Shane has us registered as the “Galley Gophers” in a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Day Gobble Wobble 5K.  I’m sure to wobble.  Will include pictures on Facebook and the next Newsletter.

I can’t express how very much myself and the staff appreciate each of you and your loyalty and interest in the Galley as each of you, simply put, are a part of our Galley family and you make us what we are.
I wish each of you a Thanksgiving that is with friends and family and everyone stay safe while traveling.  I look forward to seeing each of you over the holiday season.

Happy Holidays,
Soni, Sara, Anna, and Grace

Employee of the Month is EVERYONE

I simply couldn’t pick one employee for the month of October as everyone worked so hard and stayed focused on our customers.  I have gift cards to hand out to the entire staff for making October happen.  I have a great staff.

We also couldn’t make it without great management.  Kenneth, Brandi, Sara, and Christy, you all do an awesome job.

Join us
Every Thursday in November after 5 for Seafood Casserole with Saladand Garlic Bread $16.95.

On Veteran’s Day Friday, November 11, we will offer a 15% discount to anyone who has or is currently serving our Country.  We thank you for your service.

In December, we will be giving a free lunch to the residents of the Arc and a luncheon for a few of the residents at Autumn Care.  I think giving is what the Holidays are about and look forward to the Season. If any of you have thoughts or ideas, please let me know.

Gina has been having a lot of neck and back pain and may need surgery.  She’s very worried and let us all keep her in our prayers. Also, to the Bradley family as Mrs. Emily suffered a stroke.

A Few Reminders
We will close the restaurant November 20-27 to spend the holiday with our families.
We will also be closed
December 11 for our employee Christmas party. We will close at 3pm on Christmas Eve and be closed Christmas day. While we are closed our friends at Haywood Smokehouse, Bourbon Barrel Beef and Ale, and Frankie’s Tarattoria offer amazing food.

Also, be sure to look for us in both the Canton and Waynesville Christmas Parades.

We have a few dates left for booking our Christmas parties.

I’ve enjoyed seeing a lot of our locals and am glad to hear how well the Loyalty Cards are working.

Remember your server can look up your card and add your points if you are registered and have any problems, please call and ask for Kenny, Sara or Brandi.
